Top 5 Family-Friendly Beaches in Maui

When you’re traveling to Maui with kids, the beach is more than just sand and waves—it’s where memories are made. As a mom of three (including twins!), I’ve learned which spots are fun, safe, and perfect for families. Here are my top five favorites:

1) Baby Beach (Lahaina)

Shallow waters, soft sand, and a reef-protected cove make this a toddler’s dream.

Mom Tip: Pack reef-safe sunscreen and snacks.

2) Napili Bay

This crescent-shaped bay is calm in the mornings and has crystal-clear water for beginner snorkelers.

Mom Tip: Grab breakfast at the Gazebo nearby.

3) Kamaole Beach Parks (Kihei)

Split into three sections (Kam I, II, and III), these beaches are spacious and great for families.

Mom Tip: Kam III has the biggest grassy area for post-swim picnics.

4) Wailea Beach

Calm waters and luxe vibes, but still kid-friendly. The stroller-friendly path makes it easy with little ones.

Mom Tip: Early mornings are less crowded.

5) Baldwin Beach (Paia)

Wide open sand for running, plus “Baby Baldwin,” a calm protected pool area on the west end.

Mom Tip: Bring extra towels—the waves at the main beach can get splashy!
